Ranchi Administration Holds Pre-Eid al-Adha Peace Meeting, Vows Tight Security
Ranchi: The Ranchi district administration convened an important meeting on Sunday to ensure that the upcoming festival of Eid al-Adha (Bakrid) is celebrated in a peaceful, safe and harmonious manner.
The meeting was chaired by District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner Ranchi, Shri Manjunath Bhajantri, and was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ranchi Shri Rakesh Ranjan, Superintendent of Police (Urban), Superintendent of Police (Rural), Additional District Magistrate (Law and Order), Sub-Divisional Officer Sadar, and the District Nazarat Deputy Collector, along with several other senior administrative and police officers.
Representatives of various social and religious organisations also participated in the meeting, including the Mahavir Mandal, Central Moharram Committee, Anjuman Islamia, Guru Nanak Samiti, and the Punjabi Hindu Biradari.
Security, Cleanliness and Uninterrupted Services on Agenda
During the meeting, a detailed discussion was held on a range of issues related to the festival, including security arrangements, sanitation, uninterrupted supply of electricity and water, surveillance in sensitive areas, and strict action against anti-social elements. Members of the peace committee also submitted several important suggestions to the administration.
DC Warns Against Social Media Rumour-Mongering
Addressing the gathering, Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri said that Ranchi has always been an example of social harmony and brotherhood, and expressed confidence that with the cooperation of all communities and organisations, the Bakrid festival would be celebrated peacefully.
He made it clear that the district administration would maintain strict vigil on social media throughout the festival period. Those found spreading rumours or posting objectionable content would face stern legal action, he warned. Citizens were urged not to react to any misleading information and to immediately report such content to the administration.
Police to Deploy Forces Across All Precincts
SSP Rakesh Ranjan said that extensive security arrangements would be put in place for Bakrid. Police forces will be deployed across all police station areas, and anyone attempting to disturb law and order will face strict action, he added.
The meeting concluded on a note of solidarity, with administration officials and representatives of the various organisations collectively pledging to celebrate the festival in the spirit of mutual brotherhood, goodwill and peace.
