Scheduled Power Cut In Pune Today (May 14)
Pune: Residents across Sinhagad Road and surrounding areas will face a prolonged six-hour power shutdown on Wednesday, 14 May 2026, as Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) carries out repair and maintenance work.
The outage is scheduled from 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM and is linked to essential maintenance tasks being undertaken by Mahatransco at several substations.
This shutdown comes at a difficult time as Pune is currently battling a severe heatwave with temperatures hovering near 42°C. Many residents have expressed frustration over the timing of the maintenance work during peak summer conditions, fearing significant discomfort during the day.
Affected Areas:
- Damadi area, Agam Mandir vicinity, Sai Mystic View
- KB Developers, Amit Blossomfield Society, Athensia Royal Society, Takshashila Society
- Ambegaon, Jambhulwadi Road, Dallenagar, Sunbright School area, Lipane Vasti, Jambhulwadi Lake area
- Nanded City Township

Residents in these localities have noted that backup power options like generators and inverters are limited and often expensive during such extended outages.
