Attempt to Set Liquor Shop on Fire in Ranchi’s Pandra Caught on CCTV
Ranchi: An attempt to set a liquor shop on fire in the Pandra OP area of the state capital Ranchi has come to light, with the entire incident captured on CCTV camera. The incident is reported to have taken place late last night.

According to the CCTV footage, a young man arrived near the liquor shop on a scooty and sprinkled petrol on the shop using bottles of petrol he had brought along. He then attempted to set the shop on fire by lighting a matchstick. After carrying out the act, the youth reportedly stood near the shop for some time, observing the situation before leaving.
Pandra OP in-charge Vivek Kumar said that the entire incident was recorded on CCTV camera, and police are now scanning footage from other cameras installed in the surrounding area to gather further leads.

Preliminary investigation has also revealed that the accused had folded the number plate of his scooty, making it difficult to clearly identify the vehicle’s registration number, a detail that suggests the act may have been premeditated.
Police have not yet disclosed a motive behind the attempted arson, and the search for the accused is ongoing.
