The National Testing Agency (NTA) has launched a recruitment drive for 16 Young Professional (YP) positions, marking the first time the agency has used the Union Public Service Commission’s Pratibha Setu portal to bring outside talent into its ranks. The move is part of a broader institutional overhaul following the 2026 NEET-UG paper leak controversy that shook public confidence in India’s national examination system.
Alongside four senior General Manager-level appointments on a contract basis, the NTA is inducting 16 Young Professionals through UPSC’s Pratibha Setu platform, a portal typically used to channel Civil Services Examination aspirants into short-term government assignments. Candidates must have appeared for the Civil Services Examination and be registered on the portal to be eligible.
Selected professionals will receive a consolidated monthly salary of ₹80,000 and will be engaged for an initial period of 24 months, extendable up to 36 months based on performance. The application window remained open for 30 days from the date the notification was published 25th July.
The 16 posts are spread across three functional streams:
1. Academic Research
2. Legal Research
3. Finance and Accounts Research
According to the NTA, the appointments are meant to strengthen the agency’s internal research, legal, and financial capacity as it takes on an expanding role in India’s examination and assessment ecosystem.
The NTA has indicated that further recruitment and empanelment drives will follow in the coming weeks, covering ten functional verticals identified by the High-Level Committee. It has also floated a separate Expression of Interest for the fresh empanelment of subject matter experts and translators to support its academic and examination framework.
